Learn from the Best! Take your first shots here!

No Experience Necessary!

Welcome to Distinguished Pistol Outdoor Shooting Range - Home to the New Shooter!  First Shots is a great way to introduce first-time shooters in our community to firearms safety and the various shooting sports. Participants will get a comprehensive introduction to shooting by qualified range operators and instructors that includes (1) firearm safety, (2) local ownership requirements, (3) shooting fundamentals, and (4) hands-on instruction.  This is a great place to start!

Our once-a-month scheduled First Shots class costs $50 per person or $80 per couple, and comes with classroom instruction on basic safety principles, safe handling practices, basic shooting skills, range time, actual use of firearms, ammunition, targets, and safety equipment for eyes and ears. Call for more information or check our Calendar for "First Shots," but our classes normally happen on the second Friday of each month, starting at 3 p.m.

Classes are limited to 12 shooters per class; registration and prepayment is required.

Can't make the scheduled class? No worries! The First Shots class can be scheduled with a private reservation during regular business hours.  Both groups and families are welcome to register for larger private sessions!  Sign up today, or purchase a First Shots gift certificate by calling 336-340-1617.

Expand Your EXPERTISE!

Our First Shots class introduces new shooters to the exciting world of handgun marksmanship.  Once your class starts (and you gain a little more confidence), you will be given an opportunity to expand your shooting experience to include taking a few shots from a rifle and a shotgun!  Just say "yes" and you're in!  We will add $30 to your tab and keep you shooting a bit longer!

The First Shots program is made possible through the support and sponsorship of the National Shooting Sports Foundation.  The program's mission is to promote responsible firearm ownership through introductory seminars that focus on local and state requirements coupled with a hands-on activity, and delivered by and at NSSF partner ranges.
